Why Afghans?
I had an afghan many years ago.- He had a very difficult temperament and i had to put him to sleep. i decided i would never have an afghan any more. Several years later, I litterally speaking, got an afghan thrown after me. This was Jamie, or Freya el Cacheran.She was a dear, the sweetest dog on earth. This dog changed my mind, I loved afghans.

In 1991 I met a lady with a bunch of afghans at a dog show. I could not resist the longhaired beauties, and they could not resist me either. I was invited home to the owner to take a closer look at her dogs.

I did.

The way the dogs said "welcome to our house", told me i just needed one more afghan. The lady was of course Kari Svendsen and her Poppyfields.

17/5-02, at the National day of Norway, a new star was born: N.S.LCCH Via Appia av Poppyfield., alias Happy. We kept in contact and she told me all the things an afghan might do and what they did not do. I knew about dogsjows, I had showed Pyreneen mountain dogs for a couple of years, but now I learnt about racing and lurecoursing.We went to Sweden when happy was about 5 months old, she got crazy the first time she saw the lure moving.

Happy loves lurecoursing and she loves racing. I have started her in Norway and in several other countries in Europe. Like a real afghan she does not always follow the rules, but follows her own mind. This very seldom give you points and prices, but it makes lots of fun for the spectators! This summer she decided she had played enough and wanted to go for the title. During some very few competitions she got it, the norwegian and swedish lurecoursing championship.. Together with her 8 CAC, I am very proud of her. For her show championship she still needs one CAC from an international show.

Melchior Rex av Poppyfield has not really started yet. He was very sic for several months. I think he still needs some months to look and act like a three years old male. His main interest is to be cuddled, to play and to pee at the trees.

He has some ex. at shows, he has a lurecoursing license and he has done one or two great lurecoursings. I look forward to see what will happen next year.

Madame is still vert young, 13 months to be exact. She won most of the puppyshows and as a junior she alredy has two CAC and some Ex. 2 after her sister. She is also qualified for Crufts. See you there?
